All UK bats and their roosts are fully protected by UK and European law. Bat surveys are typically required before planning permission is granted and must be undertaken by a licensed consultant. Bat potential surveys can be undertaken year-round. If your site is likely to have bats, surveys may be required when bats are most active i.e. May to September. If bats are present on your site, Quants will tell you how best to proceed with your project and whether mitigation and/or a licence is needed. If you think your site might not need a bat survey, speak to us and we can tell you whether it is required.
