Ecology Surveys Yorkshire

Our experienced team at Quants provide a first-class ecology survey, management and advisory service throughout Yorkshire and the north of England.

We can draw upon our experience from lots of different projects types, varying in scale and complexity, steering our clients through complex environmental planning legislation.

A strength of Quants is our knowledge of the planning system as it applies to ecology and with this we help to ensure that projects run smoothly and to budget, without unexpected delays or issues.

Ecology Surveys

We offer ecology surveys  throughout Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales, Derbyshire, Teesside and Tyneside, and occasionally undertake projects further afield, by client request.

Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA)

Used extensively, often as one of the first site surveys to establish planning constraints, a Phase 1 Habitat Survey (P1HS), Extended P1HS or Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) is a baseline appraisal of a site’s ecology.

Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA)

Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) is a process of identifying, quantifying and evaluating potential effects of development-related or other proposed actions on habitats, species and ecosystems.

Protected Species Surveys

Our team of experienced ecologists provide a first-class protected species survey, management and advisory service, steering clients through this complex protected species legislation.

Biodiversity Net Gain

Biodiversity is the variety of life on earth and Biodiversity Net Gain is an overall measurable improvement. BNG is being increasingly adopted by planning authorities in Yorkshire and elsewhere. In many authorities, for planning permission to be granted developers must submit a biodiversity gain plan detailing how biodiversity will be improved.

If you are not sure which of the ecology surveys or services you may or may not need to carry out for your project, please call us and we will be happy to talk this through.
